HTC launched the Desire EYE back in November 2014, when this handset was loaded with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. In the meantime, theQualcomm Snapdragon 801-powered smartphone received a few Android Lollipop updates and now it has just started to get Android Marshmallow.
According to users from the UAE and Italy, the update comes in two parts. The first one has 360 MB in size and prepares the HTC Desire EYE to step into the Android Marshmallow world, while the second one is the Marshmallow firmware itself. This part is the largest one and has almost 1.6 GB. Next to Italy, it looks like this update is available in other European markets as well.
This Android update for HTC Desire EYE is based on version 6.0.1 Marshmallow and brings Sense 7.0 as well. Its features include Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, new emojis, a new app permissions system, as well as many minor fixes and improvements.
