MediaTek Helio X25 SoC to power Meizu Pro 6, is a faster Helio X20











MediaTek Helio X20 SoC
This new deca-core mobile processor uses the same architecture as the Helio X20 but has higher clock speeds for both the compute and the graphics cores.
The rumors saying that Meizu Pro 6 will soon launch powered by aMediaTek Helio X20 processor were almost right, as the chip to power it was unveiled earlier today. During the launch event of the new MediaTek Helio X25 processor, Meizu officials confirmed that the upcoming Pro 6 will hit the market as the first handset to use this new mobile chipset.
MediaTek Helio X25 is nothing more but a slightly faster Helio X20. The new chip has ten cores as well and uses the same architecture as the Helio X20, but has higher clock speeds for both the processing cores and the part that handles the graphics. Meizu worked with MediaTek to develop this chip and will have exclusivity for a few months before the chip maker allows other companies to use it as well.
Compared to the Helio X20, the Helio X25 has the same tri-cluster setup, but its A72 cores run at 2.5 GHz (2.3 GHz on the X20) and the ARM Mali-T880 MP4 GPU now has a speed of 850 MHz, up from 780 MHz. Additional features of the chip include support for 25 MP camera sensors or dual 13 MP cameras, fast charging, 4K video support at 30 fps, Vulkan, VoLTE, and more.
